Dr Christine Georges (née Koulis), BSc, BPS (Hons), PhD is a is a Senior Research Fellow at Cabrini Health in Melbourne. Dr Georges completed a Bachelor of Science Degree at The University of Melbourne, Australia, majoring in Pharmacology and Pathology, after which she completed her Honours Degree in Pharmaceutical Science at the Victorian Collage of Pharmacy, Monash University, and graduated from The University of Melbourne with a PhD in Pharmacology. At the completion of her PhD in 2008, Dr Georges undertook her first post-doctoral position at the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Research Institute (Melbourne). In 2016, Dr Georges joined the Cabrini Monash University Department of Surgery where her focus is on translational research and improving colorectal cancer patient outcomes. Currently, Dr Georges is the Project Coordinator of two major translational research programs within the department including the Patient-Reported Outcome Measures program and the Tissue Microarray platform. Dr Georges is coordinating the Patient-Reported Outcome Measures program at both Cabrini Health and The Alfred, two leading hospitals in Melbourne, Australia, utilising the colorectal cancer standard set outlined by the International Consortium of Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM). This program is aimed at understanding the effects of colorectal cancer and its treatment on health domains that matter most to patients and supporting clinical teams to deliver more personalised, effective care. Her work has allowed her to establish an international profile with a number of invited presentations at major national and international meetings, including the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Annual Scientific Congress, Tripartite Colorectal meeting, Life Sciences Conference and The Australian Health and Medical Research Congress. In addition, Dr Georges has also lectured and tutored at The University of Melbourne and Monash University and is a Member of the Monash Partners Comprehensive Cancer Consortium Advisory committee and the Australasian Gastro-Intestinal Trials Group (AGITG).
