Dr Amy Dwyer is a National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) Research Fellow within the Dame Roma Mitchell Cancer Research Laboratories (DRMCRL) located on Level 8 at the Adelaide Medical School. Dr Dwyer is interested in how sex hormones function in health and disease and how receptors for these hormones can be therapeutically leveraged to treat hormone driven cancers, with specific focus on the androgen receptor. Her research spans basic science through to clinical trials to test new treatment strategies for breast cancer. She is particularly interested in development and use patient-derived models of disease to facilitate pre-clinical studies.
