Yohanka Perera is a third-year PhD student and a doctoral scholarship recipient from the Auckland Cancer Society Research Centre (ACSRC), Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, University of Auckland. She graduated with honours in Molecular Biology from Sri Lanka and moved to New Zealand to pursue her ambition of becoming a cancer biologist, currently focusing on the development of NZ-specific breast tumour models for her PhD.
