I am a PhD student with an interest in studying the transcriptional regulation that governs forebrain patterning during development. This developmental process is tightly regulated by multiple factors including the homeobox transcription factor family. By studying a dorsal specific (PAX6) and a ventral specific (DLX2) homeobox factor, I aim to investigate the way in which they interact and controls the patterning of the dorsal and ventral forebrain in vertebrates, using mouse as a model.
